Our trip to Luoyang
On the evening of June 26th, we started our trip to Luoyang, a city situated on the central plain of China. It is one of the cradles of Chinese civilizations, and is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.
Our first stop was Longmen Grottoes. Thanks to the enthusiastic tour guide, we learned a lot of fun historical knowledge. Longmen Grottoes are one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. They are as many as 100,000 Buddha status within the 1,400 caves. The smallest one is 25 millimeters in height, and that of the biggest one is about 17 meters.
Besides, we also visited the world-famous Shaolin Monastery, enjoyed the fantastic and incredible martial arts performed by Shaolin monks, and appreciated the beautiful natural scenery of Yuntai Mountain.
Apart from the scenic spots, we also tasted authentic and delicious local food, which made the journey more unforgettable.
